Zune HD>>I have Comments

Zune HD Comments and Concerns

The confirmed and previously circulated rumors about Microsoft's new device A.K.A. "Zune HD" appear to be true. This new device will tout a 3.3" screen with 480 x 272 OLED capacitative multitouch screen. It has hdmi output of 720p.

My qualms with this device are that it is not true HD output, which would be an interesting enhancement. Please Microsoft if you are going to have this be a direct competitor to the Ipod touch, do not falter on the design physically and software wise. Also as far as advertising goes do not advertise your montly services or Xbox live integration as a key feature, because then again you will falter. Instead try offering a new experience not seen on the IPod before.

Please do not implement a browser based off of the internet explorer framework until the standard version has no flaws. Instead use an opensource standard like what firefox is based off of.

Finally some advanced download features when browsing the web would be nice. My previous incarnations of Zunes had all faulty or would be faulty headphones and I really wish that either no headphones or some headphones that won't fail would be included. The sound also needs to be louder and more adjustable like the current ipods, that goes for contrast and brightness as well.

Recession Compromise

,,,,

Am I the only one who thinks that corporations --not to sound all 70s on you-- need to lower their prices on consumer goods in order to help with the economic downturn? With all the money problems and financial crisis, I think companies like Apple, Alienware, Microsoft, Logitech, and Sony (with the exception of the ps3) should lower the value of their consumer goods to something obtainable. People need entertainment value from consumer products sometimes just to get through a rough or gruesome day. So I think these companies and more should lower their fixed prices to something more economically friendly.

Thank you!

Windows 7

,,,

So I have been testing Windows 7 for about two weeks now, courtesy of Microsoft testing program. I was amazed it was a beta build. At first glance it looked like a slight alteration of the Vista OS. That is not the case. Windows 7 is a revolution for Microsoft in terms of operating systems.

I had nearly give up on them, but this helped them gain back one more loyal customer. Seriously the amount of time I've spent on hold with microsoft employees who didn't know how to help me...

Back to the topic though, the operating system is a huge improvement structurally. The operating system is liquid, in the sense that it just keeps running. The new Open app taskbar is a welcome addition, Microsoft may be taking hinters from Apple on that one. The hover preview is paradigm. It will save you so much cursor time. There are many features I could not test as I don't have other systems with windows 7 installed. Driver problems, just get 7. Arduous lengthy setups, just get 7.

In this case 7 is Microsoft's lucky number. Please Microsoft don't wait so long coming out with newer operating systems in the future. Vista was not worth the wait.

I'm no fool!....jailbreak

So I am trying to use the infamous app quickpwn to jailbreak my iPhone 3g. This app is chaotic. The first time i tried the app it was misleading because it said use firmware that is same version on phone. When i read this i thought ok it must mean the one itunes downloads. It does not mean this. It's even more misleading because when you browse for the modified firmware you're supposed to use the default folder is itunes - firmware. So it's not very intuitive. So after having tried to do the jailbreak this way it gets stuck in recovery mode. Then i restore from itunes with original settings from back up.
Second time I try to jailbreak it i use the correct firmware and do the correct ocd sleep wake/ home combination in time interval sequence and it finally is processing and i see the jailbreak information processing on my phone. My thought at this point is success. No! The final process is wait for iPhone to reboot and configure jailbreak settings. I'm waiting for it to reboot, waiting, waiting. It does not reboot as it is stuck on the apple logo. I turn off the phone and try again it does not reboot. Apple does not even show an unknown iPhone that needs to be restored so we have a problem. Luckily, I'm not a moron and find work around for it through the quickpwn app and og firmware to enter recover mode and reenter itunes to restore once more.
After this experience I will not entertain the notion that jail breaking is fun, easy, practical or worth it. It's not practical at all, it's very misleading, The instructions do not suit the process at all. To say the least this application needs to be redone. I will not even bother to try jail breaking my phone again until a new application comes out that works and is not buggy. The application must have crashed like 8 times before it would move on to the next screen during installation. I am not impressed.

Why I won't Buy a Mac!

There are many reasons to why I won't and haven't bought a mac laptop, but the main reason is the right click. Ok first off in no way is ctrl + click = right click a feature set of a mac. Those mac enthusiasts who say it is obviously haven't heard of something called time management. The point of time management on a computer is to eliminate as many keystrokes as possible, not add more.
There are those people that are so dedicated to windows or mac that they will be biased and support crappy nuisances as being a special feature.
Why do I care so much about the right click? Good question! It is easier to use a right click than control click to quickly access the properties and editing options of an app or file. Lets say, you're on the phone with one hand and you want to finish editing something in powerpoint for school; a right click is necessary. There are people who argue, "Why not just buy a separate mouse?" Simple, "You shouldn't have to." You already payed an obscene amount of a money for a mac and ....apple care! "Why isn't it included? The answer is Apple even considers it a feature." Apple originally just didn't care about having a right click to do something about it, but now that there is more use of touch screen technology, their excuse is that they want to eliminate as many buttons as they can and replace it with alternative means. If that's the case why do you still have to do ctrl + click.
I really don't get apple sometimes. They come out with products that are definitely flashier and run better than other products, yet are lacking in some the most simple of areas. Then they eventually add them later on and call it an update or new features at a keynote. NO, it's not new features. It's a stigma and very arrogant. Windows "Right Click!", Linux "Right Click!" Xenon(for those of you who know what company this is" "Three clicks - right one of them". So my message to apple is get with program and stop acting so progressive be more progressive. Don't only work on adding new core and architecture functionality to mac OS X, think about hardware, and simple features.

iPhone Hate/Love relationship....

So I finally got an iPhone 3g (16 GB black). Basically I love so many things about it. It has excellent sound(output and input). It has an excellent screen(capacitive, 3.5", nice resolution). It has a nice third party application store. The Hardware feature set is pretty nice to with, Wifi(B,G), 3G, A-GPS, 16 GB Flash Drive, overall nice shape. But, it also is lacking in terms of camera, and photo quality, and capacity. The image sensor of the camera works pretty well during the day, but the exposure lags. The camera does not work well in night time. Also it does not have a video camera mode which could be done for various reasons or just pure laziness. What upsets me is that you can't sync any file you want to the iPhone, such as pdf, html, etc. It should allow such items to be synced and not be so constrictive. Also The 148 application limitation seems to be an issue for hardcore iphoners. It would be nice if there was an office suite to work on and edit word docs, power points, excel, etc. It should have wireless sync by now and copy and paste. What is Apple's excuse for this? Simple, it is not currently a priority. I think many businessmen would disagree, hence why they are choosing blackberry for that exact reason. Those are some basic functions available in windows mobile and blackberry alike. Apple needs to work better with ATT so there is not confusion when purchasing a new plan with or upgrading to an iPhone. Apple needs more accessibility to ATT server's to modify information without confusion upon arrival at Apple store.
The Mail application of the iPhone should be compatible with windows live and hotmail alike and should allow html emails and not only smtp or pop3. Finally, i'm sure many texters would agree that the iPhone needs MMS. It's not that complicated, get with the program.
